Leaked Images of Fitbit Charge 5 Show New Rounded Look Similar to Luxe tracker

Fitbit is an American consumer electronics and fitness company. According to the rumors, the company is apparently preparing to make some new updates to its line of Charge fitness trackers.

Recently, some newly-leaked images have offered us a look inside the newly updated line and what will likely be the refreshed design.

The leaker Evan Blass has shared some renders that purportedly show the upcoming Charge 5 model. Strangely, it looks as if the renewed trackers shared its design notes with Fitbit’s recent Luxe tracker, which was released in April.

The tracker has an organic feel to with a curved screen that blends into a round body. It has two slim panels that look like they will offer capacitive controls on either side of the device. They might let users tap and slide to navigate the tracker’s settings.

On past devices, the California-based company has put capacitive buttons but they’re far from universally adored. If you’re navigating controls mid-workout, these buttons were fiddly to use and inferior to physical buttons.

Another big change for the updated tracker, judging from these renders, will be the addition of a color screen. This addition has been a long time due to the Charge series.

Moreover, Blass has shared images of different colorways including a muted teal, a dark charcoal color, and a beigey-cream.

While we still don’t have to aby other specific details on specs so far, we’re not expecting any major departures from the Charge 4. We expect to see an array of sleep tracking, heart tracking, oxygen saturation monitoring, GPS, and the like.
