Ford and Google Will Reinvent Connected Vehicle Experience
Ford, an American multinational automaker, and Google, LLC is an American multinational specializing in Internet-related services and products, announced their unique strategic partnership to accelerate Ford’s connected vehicle experience.
Google will not only accelerate Ford’s transformation but also reinvent the vehicle experience.
In turn, the automaker has named Google Cloud as its preferred cloud provider. The company will be leveraging Google’s world-class expertise in data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).
Both the companies have partnered for this project for the term of six-year beginning in 2023. The project aims to provide millions of future Ford and Lincoln vehicles to be powered by Android and use Google’s built-in apps and services.
Ford and Google are establishing Team Upshift, a new collaborative group, to drive ongoing innovation. The platform will be leveraging the talent and assets of both companies and push the boundaries of Ford’s transformation, consumer experiences, unlock personalized, drive disruptive, and data-driven opportunities.
Projects will range from developing new retail experiences to creating new ownership and much more.

Form later this year, Google will be serving as Ford’s trusted cloud provider and help the company leverage Google Cloud’s AI, ML, and data analytics technologies. This will accelerate the automaker’s digital transformation, power-connected vehicle, and modernize operations technologies with Google’s trusted and reliable cloud.
