Popular Apps Including Spotify, TikTok, and Other iOS Apps Crashing Due to Facebook’s Issue
Many popular apps and services including Spotify, TikTok, Pinterest, and Tinder are reportedly broke on iOS devices, early reports have suggested that Facebook can be blamed. There are several reports on apps crashing on social media when they’re launched on iOS devices. It has also outraged corresponding spikes on DownDetector.com.
In some of these cases, launching an app offline has proved to be helpful, for example, if you have lots of music saved on Spotify, it will break their functionality in others. Despite the exact cause of the outages confirming the problem, early reports have suggested that the problem might be caused due to Facebook’s SDK. It is used by many apps to manage their user’s logins.
For the issue to affect their software, users should not be using Facebook to log into an application. Some similar reports suggest that the same apps are not crashing on the web or Android devices.

This morning, Facebook said on its platform for developers that they were “aware [of] and investigating an increase in errors on the iOS SDK which is causing some apps to crash.” Numerous developers have reported this problem they are facing with their apps on a thread on GitHub posted around 7 AM ET.
In May, a similar problem occurred with involved the Facebook SDK. It affected dozens of app and was mostly fixed on that same day.
